About the Author：
Sumru Altug is professor at the college of administrative sciences and economies at Koc University in Istanbul. Her fields of interest include intertemporal model of consumption and labour supply, investment, productivity and growth and financial band banking crises. Her previous publications include Dynamic Choice and Asset Markets (1994).
Alpay Filiztekin is an associate professor in the faculty of arts and social sciences at Sabanci University in Istanbul. His fields of research include growth theory, productivity dynamics in Turkey, diffusion of technology and real costs of inflation.
